Our approach to fees

One of our core principles is listening to clients from the start to understand what makes a difference to them. This means taking the time to understand your business, objectives and strategic goals, and delivering our advice through that lens.

While we are a large practice, we aim to give you the same feel and attention as a boutique law firm. We’ll provide dedicated teams who’ll work with you on a day-to-day basis. You’ll then have use of our wider resource and expertise as demanded by specific circumstances.

We understand that clients value an open and honest relationship, direct access, simple advice and continuity of team. We do not assume any knowledge or experience and work with you through any aspect which is unfamiliar or complex.

At the beginning of our working relationship, we are happy provide an indicative estimate of our fees. We’re flexible in our approach and happy to tailor fee structures to suit your needs, whether that’s fixed fees or hourly rates. We are well versed in sharing risk with clients through abort fee arrangements, success fees and other structures.

Bank of Hours

For general day-to-day queries, our Bank of Hours service works by purchasing a block of hours at a discounted rate. We can offer reduced rates as the hours are purchased in advance, then available to you as and when you require advice from us.

The Bank of Hours rates are ‘blended’ which means you pay the same rate regardless of seniority of the individual supporting you. The hours you buy don’t expire (so you don’t lose them if you haven’t utilised them all) and when you need more hours, it’s quick and simple to top-up.

The Bank of Hours can be used for day-to-day queries. It can also be used for ad hoc queries in relation to other legal areas such as data protection, property, commercial contracts, etc.

Employment tribunals fall outside the bank of hours, as would more significant projects or complex matters where a great degree of Partner input is required. However, we would notify you beforehand in relation to any matters which fall outside the bank of hours prior to incurring any additional costs.
