On behalf of Irwin Mitchell, YouGov fielded the February 2026 Irwin Mitchell Maternity Survey, including 1,145 adults from England & Wales.

• Both men and women were included.
• All were either currently pregnant, with a partner who is pregnant, or had a child under the age of one. Consequently, a number of respondents met both criteria.
• Notable sub-groups include those currently pregnant for whom this was their first child and those with a child under one where that was their first child.
• The sample group numbers were as follows:

– Currently pregnant – 501

– With a child under 1 – 679

– First-time parent with a child under 1 – 357

– First-time expectant parent – 168

The survey data has been weighted to be representative by gender and Government Office Region within England and Wales only.
