Carbon Literacy
Training
Irwin Mitchell is proud to be the first law firm to deliver Carbon Literacy training for SMEs.
We have been accredited by the Carbon Literacy Project, enabling us to offer Carbon Literacy training to our clients.
The training is suitable for all employees and managers. It’s a great way to become more aware of the climate impacts of everyday individual and business actions and to gain the motivation to reduce emissions.
What’s involved?
By completing one days’ worth of training on our accredited Carbon Literacy course, followed by approval of personal and workplace climate action plans, up to 15 staff will become certified as Carbon Literate Individuals. With management participation in the course companies can also apply to become Carbon Literate Organisations – from bronze to gold standard.
Carbon Literacy is a desirable asset for any employer. Behavioural change is essential for reducing CO2 emissions and saving costs. Certification from the Carbon Literacy Project will also strengthen tender propositions and enhance environmental strategies and Net Zero plans.
What does the training cover?
- The science behind climate change
- The impacts of climate change
- What you can do to act on climate change
- Skills for communicating climate action.
The training will be hosted by Environment Partner and Carbon Literacy Facilitator Keith Davidson who is a former Environment Commissioner for Greater Manchester. Keith will explain the legal and reporting framework and provide tips for corporate climate action.
How much does the training cost?
We offer two training options for SMEs – either two half day webinars at £2,000 + vat or a more interactive one day workshop at your office for £2,500 + vat. The Carbon Literacy Project charge £30 per person (no vat) for issuing the certificates.
